Two weeks after Cineworld closed larger than 500 Regal Cinemas inside the U.S., the second-largest film present chain is reopening 11 locations in New York state.

The switch comes days after Gov. Andrew Cuomo talked about that movie theaters outside of New York City would be permitted to reopen at a limited capacity.

Regal theaters in several U.S. markets will keep closed because of lack of current movie releases, nonetheless.

Earlier this month, Mooky Greidinger, the CEO of Cineworld, instructed CNBC that closing locations inside the U.S. and the U.Okay. was an answer to stem the “bleeding.” He talked about his business lost less money by not operating.

Representatives for Cineworld didn’t immediately reply to CNBC’s request for comment.

Cineworld’s willpower to reopen its New York locations showcases the importance of this market to the film present enterprise. Whereas it solely accounts for spherical 6% of entire ticket product sales, movement footage that perform properly inside the state can generate buzz and help promote tickets in several parts of the nation.
