The full Instagram submit reads, “We of the RHCP family wish to need Jack Sherman simple crusing into the worlds previous, for he has handed. Jack carried out on our debut album along with our first tour of the USA. He was a novel dude and we thank him for all events good, unhealthy and in between. Peace on the boogie platform.”
Sherman was the second of a minimum of eight guitarists with the chart-topping band over time. He carried out on “Pink Scorching Chili Peppers” in 1984, toured, and co-wrote some songs for the follow-up, “Freaky Styley.”
The band’s later albums included smashes like “Californication” and “Blood Sugar Intercourse Magik,” with hits along with “Give It Away.”
The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012. Sherman, though, was not included.
Singer Anthony Kiedis wrote in his autobiography: “God bless Jack, he did protect the band afloat for a 12 months, and if he hadn’t, the years to adjust to perhaps wouldn’t have.”
